For Immediate Release

USRider Launches Mobile Website

Lexington, Ky. (May 27, 2008) – USRider has developed a mobile version of its website created specially for mobile devices with Internet access. The address of this new website is www.usrider.mobi.

“We created this new version of our website to put safety information in the hands of horse owners who travel with their horses,” said Mark Cole, managing member for USRider. “While the same information is available on our traditional website, www.usrider.org, we have created this new platform to follow our members out the door and into their vehicles.”
There is no cost to access this mobile device-friendly website – it is available to both members and non-members for free. Horse owners should add to their favorites.

The mobile website has information that is applicable to those people who travel with horses, including safety bulletins, equine trailer safety tips such as Don’t Leave Home Without It, Long- and Short-Trip Precautions, recommended contents for an equine trailer first aid kit, a Pre-Trip Trailer Checklist, and more.

“Now horse owners have no excuse not to follow safety tips that will enhance their safety and the safety of their horses,” added Cole. “With this information available with an Internet-capable hand-held device, horse owners can always be prepared.”

Additionally, horse owners can have these valuable tips in-hand as they prepare their rig to leave for a trip. One of the most useful items for people to consult when getting ready to travel with their horses is the Pre-Trip Checklist for Horse Trailers that USRider developed in cooperation with Drs. Tomas and Rebecca Gimenez. This list should be consulted each time prior to trailering horses.

USRider’s mobile website also has mapping features. Considering the ever-increasing fuel prices, these mapping functions will help travelers save money by finding the most direct route. Plus, the mapping function includes a feature to help locate the lowest prices for gasoline and diesel fuel in the vicinity.

Another important capability with the new mobile website is the ability to access USRider’s Winner’s Circle Advantage member benefits program. With this program, members can view participating vendors and find deals on horse-related items and services while on the road.
“We will continually be adding new features,” said Cole, “So we encourage folks who travel with horses to check back often.”

Through its Equestrian Motor Plan, USRider offers nationwide roadside assistance especially for equestrians. The plan includes standard features such as flat-tire repair, battery assistance and lockout services, plus towing up to 100 miles and roadside repairs for tow vehicles and trailers with horses, emergency stabling, veterinary and farrier referrals, and more.

For more information about USRider and more equine trailer safety tips, visit the USRider website at www.usrider.org or its mobile website www.usrider.mobi, or call (800) 844-1409.
