USRider to Enhance Website
Lexington, Ky. – In its continuing effort to enhance service and benefits to its members, USRider has upgraded its website. This modernization allows members to manage most aspects of their membership online.
Founded in 2002 and administered by the Motor Club of America Enterprises, Inc., USRider offers the only roadside assistance program tailored specifically toward those who travel with horses.
With an annual fee comparable to that of other roadside assistance programs, USRider’s Equestrian Motor Plan offers the typical flat-tire repair, battery assistance and lock-out services. To further assist horse owners, this unique plan also includes benefits such as towing and roadside repairs for loaded trailers, stabling arrangements for horses, and veterinary and farrier referrals.
To facilitate the upgrading, USRider formed an alliance with Integrated Databases of Honolulu, Hawaii to enhance the membership area of its website. The partnership also involves Blue Claw Database Design of Chester, Md., the developer of USRider’s database management system.
Integrated Databases (www.integrateddatabases.com) creates custom database applications that enable organizations to process information more effectively. Integrated Databases created solutions for AT&T Broadband and Nissan North America, Inc. as well as with the U.S. Army. Most recently, they completed the taxi dispatching system for Honolulu International Airport.
Blue Claw Database Design (www.blueclaw-db.com) is a database consulting company specializing in building Microsoft Access database applications for customers. Blue Claw Database Design created custom software for Comcast Corp, FedEx Freight Systems, UBS Financial Services and Wyeth Vaccines.
"After a significant investment in software and hardware, upgrading our website has greatly streamlined our internal operations, helping to keep our membership costs the terrific bargain they are," said Mark Cole, managing member for USRider. "We are very pleased to work with these two highly respected organizations. This partnership ensures that our members’ experience with us will be as superb on the Internet as it is on the side of the highway when they have a disablement."
In addition to helping upgrade the USRider website, Integrated Databases is hosting www.usrider.org in the same facility used by AOL. The IBX data center has direct access to all of the top global Tier 1 networks, which serve as the backbone of the Internet. This state-of-the art facility employs redundant backup generators and biometric enhanced security to ensure that personal data is safe and available.
"Upgrading its website is another example illustrating USRider’s commitment to its members,” said Cole, “This initiative makes it easier for members to add associate memberships, renew their membership, update their contact information, view member-only discounts and more."
As part of this upgrading, the USRider Equine Travel Safety Area on the website has been further enhanced. Safety topics have been expanded and can be easily downloaded in a PDF format. This benefit is available for both members and non-members at no cost and was developed in conjunction with nationally respected experts, Neva Kittrell Scheve and James Hamilton, DVM.
"The safety area on our website is an excellent resource and should be must-read for anyone who trailers horses," said Cole. "Many conscientious horse owners report visiting the site, printing off the various checklists, and going shopping to make travel safer. This, in turn, helps these owners be better stewards for their animals."
In addition to offering members indispensable roadside assistance, USRider offers exclusive money-saving discounts through partnerships with more than 60 nationally recognized equine retailers. Members are eligible for great savings on items for horse, rider and enthusiast, including equestrian gifts, jewelry, art, tack, apparel, vet supplies, services and more.
Another benefit offered through the motor plan is participation in the Leg-Up program. With this initiative, USRider helps those who help horses by enhancing awareness of the issue of Large Animal Rescue, and by donating a portion of its annual profits to qualified, worthy organizations that provide emergency equine response.
